Contour Plant, Shell and Sculpture Still Life on Prepared Paper
You will first prepare your paper with a watercolor wash or tissue paper staining. Do not use dark colors for this process. Limit your choice to colors to lighter value ranges so your contour drawing will be the main focus. Start at least 1” from the bottom of your drawing paper when initiating the contour still life. This is a weighted contour drawing that should meet the following criteria:
• Accurate observational rendering
• Attention to detail
• Variety in line quality (use some weighted line)
• Continuous contour
