Bio

Brenda Robson is a professor of art at The Cambridge School of Dallas, where she has taught for over 20 years, guiding emerging artists through courses that balance technical mastery with personal expression. She also serves as a Studio Art Reader for the College Board, evaluating Advanced Placement portfolios and contributing to national visual arts standards. Trained originally as an advertising and fashion illustrator, she brings this foundation into her commissioned work and fine art practice. Robson holds a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Art and Psychology from Liberty University and an Associate of Arts in Art from The Art Institute of Dallas.

Working in oil and egg tempera, Robson’s paintings explore the tension between permanence and ephemerality. Influenced by the symbolic clarity of the Pre-Raphaelites and Thoreau’s attentive engagement with nature, her work reflects fleeting moments of joy set against an undercurrent of longing. Each piece lingers at the intersection of light and presence, revealing quiet beauty in what is often overlooked.

Robson has exhibited in over 17 invitational and competitive exhibitions, earning multiple awards. Notable exhibitions include Fresh Off the Easel at The Dutch Art Gallery, Dallas (First Place and The People’s Choice Award, 2025 and The People’s Choice Award in 2024); Women in Art: Letting in the Light at Art on Main, Dallas (2025); Awakening Earth at Zhou Art Center, Chicago (2024); New Texas Talent XXX at Craighead Green Gallery, Dallas (2023); and Teravarna’s 6th Annual Portrait International Competition (Talent Prize, 2023). Her work has also appeared in The New Pre-Raphaelites Era Contemporary (Philadelphia) and Extraordinary Tales: Magical Realism at Bath House Cultural Center, Dallas.
